Boihood with Brannen, Episode 2: Social Dysphoria and Identity

My latest from my YouTube channel.  Also, I’m probably going to be transferring my other blog to here for convenience’s sake.  It’s been inactive for over a year now, so, no worries if you don’t want to read it.

  1. First, fun to see the kitties in the background. Second, you remain one of the strongest and most courageous people I know, Brannen. You are allowing yourself the freedom to be in the moment, each moment that comes, however difficult or wonderful that moment is. If I could encourage you in any way it would be to say this: you don’t need the world’s approval. You just need your own. If it would make it easier, just say, “Hey, my name is Brannen and I’m a guy.” Not only could that take the anxiety down a notch or two, but it would be a great litmus test that will immediately reveal the safe and cool new people in this exciting next step in your life. You are fantastic, just as you are!

  2. I’m not even sure where to start in this comment, so I will just say that you are an outstanding individual and I look forward to watching more of your videos. The world needs strong, yet peaceful voices such as yours. I also can’t help but notice your Kate Bornstein poster in the background :)

    • I was able to see her in Fargo before I left home, it was AMAZING! She was so sweet, she even asked me at the very end if I felt included. Thank you for your kind words!!

      • I’m so glad you’ve been able to meet her. I first saw her lecture at a conference in Wisconsin a couple years back, but then had the honor to help bring her to my campus for a Presidential Lecture Series. She is such a wonderful person.
You’re very welcome. Keep up the fantastic work.
